Pre-requisites

Applicants who have a Bachelors degree in Accounting are eligible to apply. Applicants who have an undergraduate degree who were not accounting majors must have completed the following six accounting courses to be eligible to apply.

  • Introductory Financial Accounting
  • Introductory Managerial Accounting
  • Intermediate Financial Accounting I
  • Intermediate Financial Accounting II
  • US Federal Income Tax
  • Auditing

Graduates of the certificate who are interested in earning a Master of Science in Accounting degree will be able to transition pending satisfactory academic performance (3.0+) in the certificate. Graduates of the certificate can transfer and apply certificate courses toward the MSA degree requirements.

Application Instructions

Applications to the Advanced Business Certificate in Accounting Analytics are taken online only.  In addition to application questions, applicants must upload two short-answer essays, a current resume, and transcripts from all universities they have attended.

For preferred consideration applications must be received by June 1 for fall semester and November 1 for spring semester.  An admissions decision may be made within approximately three to five weeks from when an application is complete.

International Students: This is a part-time and online program. Pursuant to U.S. immigration regulations, the University of Connecticut may not sponsor F-1 and J-1 visas for the purpose of coming to the U.S. for enrollment in an online program. International students may enroll in this program if they are currently in the U.S. on another visa status that permits foreign nationals to engage in school enrollment while meeting their primary visa objective, or if they complete the program from their home country.
